During our trip to Nepal, I have given much importance to show to people my pictures of them. I think this is the least of things (although on the whole stay I have not seen anyone doing it!) And people really appreciated! These moments were always very strong — it makes me even more sick regarding […]

As usual, a great kindness and a shared pleasure of the subjects discovering my pictures on the camera screen! This has really affected me. Thanks to nepali people for that…

At ƒ4, it's difficult to capture a lot of light, while keeping a reasonable ISO, and avoiding to exceed 30 seconds of exposure time so the movement of the Earth (relative movement of stars) does not create trails. Anyway, the result of the post-adjustment shows that finally, you can capture quite a lot of information! […]

Earth, Wind & Fire

On September 9, the legendary group Earth, Wind & Fire gave a free concert at Clamart. Al McKay and his All Stars animated the Hunebelle stadium for over an hour and thirty. The CD sold in a small kiosk at the end of the concert evaporated in less than four minutes while twenty meters away, a part of the team was signing just about anything that people put under their pen. An opportunity for me to take some pictures with the Canon EF 85mm ƒ/1.2L II USM @1.2 (<em>What else?</em> ^^).

The Sassière Valley

That morning, I was fighting step by step to tear myself away from the snow with my 18kg backpack, then, pausing a moment to rest, this panorama offered itself to me. It was startling. Below, two adjustments, the fist is conform to my “habits of realistic post-adjustment”, the second that I enjoyed to make and […]

The Superficial Flickr

For many Flickr users, the Holy Grail is get in . Explore is a showcase of what is supposed to be better on Flickr, but it must be that we are pretty far off. The thing being automated, everyone's (well almost…) trying to break through the algorithm behind the feature. Thus small groups of people […]

One of the photos taken for my friend Christoph Vogelbusch. Natural lighting for the main part, plus a flash triggering (@ -1 EV). Ok, I admit it, with such a , you're not standing close to the subject, but… what a pleasure! About adjustments, I stuck with something natural, first because of the needs, also […]

Manly shore

A picture that does not have much fancy, I admit very willingly, except the fact that visiting Manly was very nice and I wanted to share you this little piece of coast fairly typical of the place. I hope one day to have time to prepare a short video of that day. At the same […]

During a walk around Cairns, we went along this clearing. I was struck by the atmosphere that emanated from it: it was beautiful, quiet, without harsh and direct light from the sun, nature everywhere, much less human. And at the same time, images of the many inevitable movies about Vietnam and one begins to imagine […]

The “Château de la Chatonnière” his gardens is very pleasant. This is a restful place. The adjustment here was mainly done to reveal details on the sky. I add a vignetting effect to better guide the eyes into the path, while a slight color correction helps to render the scene more like “the way I […]

For this backlighting shot, I use the Center-Weighted Average metering mode to mainly expose shadows (the building), get more detail and quality on this critical areas, while the over-exposure on the sky will be easily handheld thanks to the great highlights (“to the right”) sensibility of the sensor.
